Our Education Branch provides the following online and offline professional traiinging and public education resources:
PUBLIC EDUCATION:
• VOICES — a panel of Take Root members who
volunteer to share their personal
stories with the public and the media to raise issue
awareness and reach new members.
• The Missing Side - online publication of former abducted children's artistic and literary comments on abduction
• PSA's — raising awareness of abduction by family members as the leading
cause of abduction in the United States. 30 seconds, for radio
and television broadcast.
• The Grotto - online issue literature library featuring an extensive bibliography and linked texts.
• Being Missing —an eleven minute
video featuring Take Root members
discussing what it means to be an abducted child. DVD or VHS.
• Family Abduction: How Bad Can it Be? - a three minute video featuring Take Root members addressing the myth that children taken by a parent or family member are not abused or endangered. DVD or VHS.
• Helping Missing Children Recover - a three minute video featuring Take Root members explaining Take Root's programs and objectives. DVD or VHS.
•Missing Heather - a 15 minute documentary by award winning multimedia producer Rodrgio Dorfman, chronicalling Take Root member Rebekah's quest to reclaim pieces of the abduciton identity that comprised 8 years of her childhood.

health, lawyers, judges, human & social service
workers, or mixed audiences. Can also be conducted as a staff training. 2 hours.

Take Root has developed recommendations for parents helping their children navigate the challenges of return post-abduction. 2 hours.
